Frequently asked questions

Booking & payment

When is my booking confirmed?

After you send a booking request, our staff checks availability and your requests and emails you within 48 hours to confirm or decline. Your booking is not complete until you receive our confirmation email.

Can I book by phone or through booking sites?

Yes. You can call us at 0120-911-730 (toll-free, from within Japan), email us at info@sotsulog.com, or book through Booking.com or Airbnb.

How do I pay?

Please pay in cash at check-in.

How do I cancel? Is there a cancellation fee?

Cancellation is free up to 3 days before your stay. Just reply to your confirmation email or call us.

Rooms & rates

How much does it cost?

¥9,900 per person per night (room only, tax included). The rate is the same every day of the year.

Are there child rates?

Children who use their own bed are charged the adult rate (¥9,900 per night). Children sharing a bed with an adult stay free — please include them as “children sharing a bed” when you book.

How many guests can stay?

Up to 11 guests. We have rooms for 2 and a room for 4, and groups of 8 or more can book the whole house.

We are 3–4 people. Which room will we get?

We will offer you the room for 4. If it is full on your dates, we will offer two rooms for 2 instead. Pick your dates on the calendar to see which rooms we can offer.

Meals

Are meals included?

No — we offer room only. There are restaurants, a bakery and a supermarket nearby.

Can I order a bento lunch box?

Yes, ¥1,500 each (tax included). You can choose the day and how many when you book. To order later, please let us know by the day before your stay.

Can I use a fridge or microwave?

Yes. The fridge and microwave oven are free to use.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3 pm and check-out is by 10 am. You can leave any time you like before 10 am.

Is there laundry?

Yes, there is a washer and a dryer — handy after a day on the trail or on a long stay.

Is there parking?

Yes, free parking for up to 3 cars. If you are coming by car, please tell us how many cars when you book.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, Wi-Fi is available.

How do I get there by public transport?

About 60 minutes by Ryujin Bus from JR Kii-Tanabe Station. By car, about 50 minutes from Nanki-Tanabe IC on the Hanwa Expressway.

Can I buy groceries nearby?

Yes. A-coop Kumano Kodo Chikatsuyu (8:30–18:00, closed only on New Year’s Day) has groceries, drinks and daily essentials.
